Our majestic lives are churned out of several episodes. Some characters hover in and out throughout the story line. Certain others are like puddles you stepped into on the way while yet others feel like rainbows that you flew above and conquered. There might at other rare occasions be ambiguity in figuring out the difference between the two. Nevertheless, it is a roller coaster ride. Half of us get on, hooting our lungs out and pumping adrenaline into our veins and the other weak hearted half (including me) hold their breath at every turn and hope to merely "survive" at the end of it all.

Bizarrely, my eureka moment came while trying to float on my back in the swimming pool. I realized that even pessimists like me could choose (or fool themselves into choosing) between the two options. All it ever took for me to stay afloat and enjoy the swim was to literally let go- of my body, my fear of drowning, my love for "surviving" till the very end. Everything!
I never ended up swallowing gallons of water and sinking ultimately; until I kept bobbing my head to see what was coming to me. I miraculously made it through, when I tried closing my eyes (and mind) to everything around me and let it go- the feeling was ecstatic (not exaggerating)!!
This was the moment of enlightenment (I could see a faint halo on the head of my coach) when I realized that the moment you lose everything is when in fact you make space for receiving the best. When we manage to let life take its course without panicking and imagining the most outrageous possibilities of a devastating future; is when we begin living it.

For those who want to fake it until they make it, you always have the crutch of "destiny" to take the initial steps. After all, something pre-written by the almighty is easier to blame for glitches than one's own chosen actions. Plus you can always revert to being a non believer in destiny, when life is going smooth. I am sure the almighty wouldn't mind.

So allow yourself to float to the unknown. Sure it might bring regrets but isn't it worth taking the risk? There is after all, the slight possibility of a narrow window opening up. A window that could promise to show you the glimpse of a rainbow so spectacular; that it would suffice to sail you through the rest of your life.

May be it is about time to take a back seat and enjoy the show unravel. Lets live the ride rather than dread it. Cheers to rediscovering life as it should be- FUN!
